i had an ectopic pregnancy in march this year which caused my left tube to rupture and be removed. i started ttc in may and last night i found out im pregnant with a home test in which one line was lighter than the other. i had been having some lower back discomfort so just to be sure everything was fine i ran into the e.r to double check, better early than late and have to have another surgery again because "they found out it was ectopic too late" and have to lose my right tube. anyways, they re tested me and the results where the same, one line lighter than the other but definetly a positive. they also did bloodwork and the levels came in that im in the early pregnancy stage. well they did an ultra sound and the doctor told me he doesnt see any "masses" in the right tube (my remaining tube) and doesnt see anything in the uterus either, but he thinks its just way too early to see anything so he told me not to worry. yes im scared of it happening again but if all i have is hope and faith, i cannot bare to lose that. if it is indeed ectopic, i rather them find out asap so they can give me the shot and not have to operate, i will keep you all updated i have to go back to the e.r on monday so they can re do the blood work and see if the levels are going up and do another u/s. what conserns me so much is that according to me, i did get my period this month.. on the 11th because i did bleed on the 11th through the 16th like a normal period.. i usually expect it on the 13th but having it 2 days early was no big deal for me until now that i dont know what is going on and so why would i be pregnant then and if so, did i have a miscarriage.. or is it ectopic again.. i cant believe i got my period and im pregnant. its weird. the doctor said it might have just been implantation or blah blah blah i cannot wait to find out whats going on but my hopes are very high.

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time. First off, depending on the type of test the test line may always be lighter than the control line. You'll also see the line get lighter/darker with each test you take. It has to do with the amount of dye in the test itself which varies from test to test and greatly from brand to brand. The bleeding could have easily been implantation bleeding, or your body may have thought it should have a period when it didn't need to. That little bean may still be very firmly attached and growing. Did you have the usual amount of bleeding? Clotting?
I hope that your u/s yields positive results today.

i went in to the doctors again on monday and i was met with a new doctor who re did my blood work and said i wasnt pregnant? they also did another u/s and they didnt see anything anywhere not in the uterus not in the tube.. so honestly i dont know what to think other than maybe the bleeding i had on the 11th was a miscarriage because there is no way the test i did at home and the test i did at the hospital that same day could of been wrong.. oh and that new doctor was real cold with me, he didnt even care to explain what was going on. i asked him "so could the bleeding i had on the 11th be a miscarriage" and he just was like whatever didnt even answer correctly and left. so far im feeling alright, im gonna find a new doctor and see what that who positive pregnancy was all about because how can from one day to the next i not be pregnant anymore?

(((HUGS))) I have had two miscarriages and two ectopics. I think what you are describing sounds like a chemical pregnancy or early miscarriage. I lost my tube with my last ectopic so I really understand your feelings about wanting to know what is going on. I would go find another doctor if I were you. I went through three doctors before I finally got pregnant with my son. You have to look out for yourself and find a good doctor that cares about you.
I am very sorry for your losses.

thank you so much for the support. thanks to your post i was able to find out about "chemical pregnancies".. and only to find out that this is most likely what happend to me. i never knew this existed and when i read about it, it was like i knew this is what had happend to me, but i still have an unanswered question i couldnt find much help about.. does this mean that my remaining tube (right tube) is good and not blocked like my left was? sorry to ask this and not to a doctor but i dont have any insurance currently so aside from e.r visits which dont charge you on the spot, im unable to visit a doctor right now to ask this to. thanks again for everything.

I really think you should work on finding some insurance. I have private health insurance. I would call an agent if you don't have insurance available through your work and see what your options are. You should really have a hysterosalpingogram (I hope I spelled that right) done. That will tell you if your other tube is blocked. I think if you had a chemical pregnancy though that is a good sign that your other tube is working. I still think you should try to find out about insurance. When I had my ectopic last time I ended up spending three days in the hospital. I don't think you should be ttc with this kind of history without insurance because you might need medical care right away. If you can't afford insurance you may be able to get it through your state.

I experienced 3 ectopics , the last resulted in my left tube being removed. The just a month later i concieved this pregnancy, i was sure it was an ectopic again and so were the doctors. i recieved scan after scan until finally when my levels were up to 17,000 they saw a tiny egg in the right place.
im sorry you have suffered anouther loss, i also sufferd a miscarriage during ttc and in some ways it was worse than the ectopics, because i just never knew if it was the real deal or not. Anyway stay strong, i honestly thought id never concieve. xxx

just coming by to announce on this thread that iam now in fact pregnant again and this time it stuck ) im about 2 months and all is well to this point. i just wanted to post this up in case someone wondering the internet world who is searching up the possibility of getting pregnant after an ectopic, such as i was a while back.. will see that it is possible regardless of what else you might read which in my case was all negativ, well mostly and not negative in a bad sense but just that the whole ttc after ectopic and reading people saying its been years and they still havent been able to is sad to read and discourages us alot sometimes, brings our hopes way down. anywho, just wanted to let it be known. 2 months of active trying i believe and we are preggo again. =]

congratulations - it gives me a lot of hope to hear stories like this - I'm on my 2nd cycle TTC, after losing my right tube to an ectopic in 2007...
