Hello Ladies. I am interested in starting a Daycare Center in my home. I am in stage one which is doing all the research and learning all the rules. Is there anyone else who has started one and knows the in's and out's of getting this started? I have a question inwhich I have not found the exact answer to. I wanted to know if you have to reside in the home inwhich you provide daycare servies out of? Can someone please help. Thanks in advance.

Well I know quite a bit about the whole daycare/home daycare stuff, but I do believe that the rules and regulations are different for every state. As far as I am aware, you do not have to live in the place that you are going to do the daycare at, but there may be city permits to get if it is not your actual residence. Here in Arkansas you don't even have to be licensed or have any real regulations unless you have 6 or more kids. I am actually starting one myself. I went to college for Early Childhood Education, but have been working as a retail manager for the past 7 years. We bought a house just about a year ago and now that we have a 3 month old, I figured it was the perfect time to start the daycare I always wanted. I'll keep an eye on the board if you have any questions I'll be glad to help you out if I can. Good luck and enjoy your new daycare.

I was just wondering how you are and if you had decided on doing this or not!
Update if you get a chance!

Hello ladies and thanks for all the information. I have decided to continue to open my home daycare center. I am now in the process of completing some classes to get my CDA while I wait for the house to be complete and wait for my baby to get here. If there is any more advice please give me some. Thanks All
