Anyone here do that? I've seen a few sites that actually will pay you to blog. Just wondering if it is worth it.

Never heard of any sites that pay you to blog. But since I tend to blog quite a bit lately, I'd be interested in checking out the sites. Can you give the links?

Hi I am going to butt in here a little bit. My name is Connie and I own a website for parents who want to work from home but tonight I was bored, surfing and ended up here. What a fascinating board! I am loving it so far. Anyway, I just wanted to comment on the blogging for money thing. I have written quite a bit about this subject in one of my blogs recently and wanted to give my opinion.
The first link above is for a guy who will pay you to advertise his products in your blog. This is actually kind of cool. I don't think it will help you right away though. One of his requirements is that you must have 25 backlinks through yahoo. That by itself will take some time to get.
The second is a link for blogger.com and their help section. I have two blogs at blogger and love them. The way it works is that you start your blog and set up a google adsense account. Then you start writing. You will want to find a niche area that you can write about and you will want it to be something you are passionate about or you will get bored fast. For instance if you love to scrapbook you could write about scrapbooking, layouts, new tools etc. Whenever someone looks at your blog they will see ads from google and the ads will be targeted to whatever you wrote about. Whenever someone clicks on one of those ads you get paid. So if you want to make money you will need to write daily or at least every other day, you will want to promote your blog in places where there are people interested in what you are writing about and anywhere else you can think of.
One more thing on this, there are communities popping up all over. The way they work is that you start a blog and your adsense ad's are shown half the time and the owners ads are shown the other half. You write and they promote. There are some issues popping up with this as well. Since the communities are full of people who want to be helpful or who didn't read the terms and conditions there is a lot of ad clicking going on that shouldn't be going on and google has started pulling some adsense accounts. I was at one of these communities up until yesterday when I pulled my adsense info off the site. I loved the community but the risk of losing my adsense acct was just too big so be careful!

Hope this helps!
Connie
