Are there any of you on here that sell candles as a representative for another company?
I am about to sign up as a rep (waiting on the paper work) for a company where I will be getting a good commision on online sales - I haven't seen/heard anything about hosting in-home parties, but I was considering buying a large (or maybe small lol) sampling of her products and hosting a show or two for my friends to encourage them to buy the products so I will get the credits (as opposed to simply giving out the web address and them "forgetting" to credit me for the sale)......
I was wondering what your home parties are like and if you have any tips or ideas!
I actually make and sell my own soy-based candles at green markets... it's a great way to make some extra money, and I only go to the market one saturday a month. It's a lot of fun, but if you live in a cold-weather state, it's not the greatest idea. You could make them and sell them online, or on ebay, or in a consignment shop, or something like that.
The start up cost wasn't that much either.. I think it was about $300.
Anyway, now I'm bringing in over $500/month to help my husband out with the finances.
I'm a rep with Mia Bella Gourmet Candles (all natural soy/vegetable wax). I mainly retail in my massage practice. If you have the chance to do a home show, go for it! The more customers can see, touch, smell, the better! No business is easy, but candles have a way of almost selling themselves. Good luck!
