Thankfully I have a sister (who is also my assistant) that comes in the mornings and stays until around 1pm each day. This was particularly helpful this week because I have been so sick with a sinus infection and have had zero energy and motivation. It really helped that I could rest for the morning while she was here to be able to have enough energy to get through the afternoon by myself. I have great parents as well though. I called them all yesterday and mentioned that if anyone is able to pick up earlier today I'd really appreciate it. They all picked up at least an hour early - no problem.
My hubby helps out whenever possible if I am too sick to watch them. The parents still bring them and I lay on the couch and he will watch them (sit them in front of the tv). I've only had to call the parents 2 or 3 times in the 4.5 years I've been doing my daycare to tell them I was too sick to keep their kids...and I think every time I was throwing up or so sick I couldn't leave the bathroom.
