It was only when I bumped into an old friend from college yesterday that I realised although I have also been working outside of home I've been doing varius WAH jobs and freelance stuff for a decade now! I can't believe it's been that long.

It'll be 3 years this July that I've been working from home.

Thats great! Have you been doing the same thing(s) through that time or have you changed or picked up additional work?

I work between 50 and 55 hours a week for a transcription company. Same company the whole 3 years. Plus then I own my own pet sitting business that I work part time as well for the 3 years.

I have always been intregued by the thought of pet sitting! Is it hard work? I can imagine it can be quite trying sometimes depending on the animal.

Just depends on who you are and how well you do with animals I guess. Given my history with them and expertise in nutrition, training, diseases, and medications it's the easiest job I've ever had. I used to board one human family at a time (no more than 2 dogs) in my home and also go ot other people's homes, but I've stopped watching dogs in my home and now just go to theirs. My visits are 40 minutes long and I check the security of the home, pick up mail, clean up the yard of feces, give food and water, play with, leave a detailed report of everything and the time I arrived and left, include a phone call or e-mail daily, alternate lights, give medications, but still it's pretty easy work all things considered. I'm sure it helps that I have 3 dogs of my own and 2 cats and foster for a rescue so the pet thing doesn't really phase me haha.

If I could do it full time I would, but unfortunately it's not a dependable paycheck given that there's obviously slow times of the year and such. So I need a daily dependable paycheck to pay the bills and that's my fun part time side job.
