Hi! I'm new here. I am a SAHM to a 9 month old baby. I worked full time up until having my LO. I would really like to do something from home to earn a little extra money but I'm not sure what. I have a background in Art and love to paint but it's so time consuming and probably not much of a money maker.
I saw a work from home ad in a parenting magazine for Occasion Ography - candywrapperbiz.com and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this? There's not much info on their site.
Also, I have considered pampered chef or tastefully simple, but has anyone out there really made money this way? I just wonder if it's worth it after all the time traveling to people's homes and I am not a pushy person and have never been good at sales.

I would definitely check out the link that Mommie posted! It can be tough to find a legitimate work from home business.
As far as home based businesses (Pampered Chef, Tastefully Simple, etc.) I signed up with Thirty-One about a year ago (I actually signed up to get the $300 worth of product for $99 with no intention of selling!) and I LOVE it. I'm not a salesperson either, but if you find the right product that you love, it sells itself. I don't do it full time (also have a full time job), but have made quite a bit by doing it part time.

Well, i use superpoints to make extra money. its a online job/task/survey/free trial site. Its members only so i've included some invite tokens below (you have to be invited to join). I work about 30-45 min a day during my breaks and cash out about 40-45 a week ...so if you have more time to dedicate you will make more. They pay every Monday
its invitation only. If you'd like an invite token to check it out, you can email me at toledorockets at yahoo

How about instead of a work at home JOB, you start your own business from scratch? You can create your own business from home teaching people about art and painting. I do this all the time. I first created an Italian home design business (while bedridden!) -- it's completely online. That is one of many income streams that I have through my own internet business sites.
You can totally make money from art and painting. People typically think "work at home job" or they usually only know about making money from network marketing or throwing home parties.
Once I started building my first business, I never returned back to work for anyone. (I had a terrific career in the dental industry, too...)
Wanted more time with my family, and I wanted to actually like what I did in my business.

Hi,
Congratulations on your baby boy
I wanted to send you a private message, but I'm new to the boards and not sure if I can!! I am a mom to two small boys and work part-time as a preschool teacher and work from home p/t as a coach for the company that produces workouts like Turbofire/P90X/ Insanity.
I used the program of Turbofire workout to lose my babyweight and loved the products so I looked into the coaching opp. It is a low cost opportunity where you can help/inspire others to get fit an earn substantial income over time. I'd love to share more with you.
If you send me a friend request on facebook I'd be happy to fill you in. I am under Kristen Moore Thomas.
Hope to hear from you!
Kristen

Customer Service type positions is a growing work at home area. Also, there are many other ways to make money online.
The best advice I can give is never pay an up front fee.

Hmm well I started my own business, which is very rewarding, but also very time consuming. It you are looking for something you can just jump into that's artsy, have you ever looked at etsy.com? They set up for own little online art shop for you and it looks really neat!

One profession which you can consider is freelance writing. There are many companies/websites which pay you for writing content from home. You can earn anywhere between $30-120 depending on the quality of the articles.

I sell Arbonne and bring in ~600/month...love it and the products. They're "green" so they are free of formaldehyde (johnson and johnson baby products contain formaldehyde!) and mineral oil (google mineral oil, its disgusting) and they're vegan certified so they contain no animal byproducts and they're never tested on animals....my family is very green and im a super label reader and i have no problem endorsing Arbonne (im THAT crazy hippy)

There are a lot of different direct selling type work at home opportunities out there, but there are regular jobs too. I have a lot listed on my website and would be happy to answer any specific questions that you may have.

Hi, my name is Brandy! I'm a full-time wife and mommy to 5 beautiful Children ages 11,8,6,4 and 3 month old. From the day my 1st son( that was 9 years ago) was born I knew I wanted to be home to take care of my family. I hoped for my husband to get a raise or a better job. I didn’t know how to take control and make it happen for my family. I needed a way to earn from home. I wasn’t able to find that until right before my Daughter was born that is my three year old. I was particular and wasn’t looking for anything that required people to spend money on stuff they didn’t need. With the economy right now most people are having a hard time just making it; they can’t afford nonessential items. I also knew up front I didn’t want to work with a MLM company or do parties. I knew in order to be successful I would need to find a company that was risk free, reputable & one that has been around for quite some time. I didn’t want any hidden fees, selling or any inventory. I wanted something anyone could do and something that didn’t have a huge investment involved! My last requirement was No Telemarketing. After a lot of searching I finally found a company that met all my criteria and more. Finding a company that has never been affected by a recession and actually grows during that time was a major bonus!
These are the things that I do right from my home: set appointments; market my free website (training provided); dial people into overview calls; set up online accounts; help others do what I do & earn residual income that grows every single month!!
I started working this part time Three Years ago because I was working full time; so I had to fit it in where I could. I am now home full time! I’ve actually received Last year Over 45,000 , that was more then I was making in the corp. world. How you work this depends on your income goals, everything is month to month, no contracts or quotas and no monthly fees. I call the shots and still spend quality time with my family. If my daughter has a dance recital I don’t have to ask permission to leave work or take the day off. I can work completely around my family. When I started I was nine months pregnant, so I know anyone can do this. This is not a “get rich quick scheme”’ it definitely requires hard work and determination, but it is so worth it. It was scary looking for a legitimate company, but I found one that is making my family’s dreams come true. If you are in the same situation as I was and you'd like more information go to my website at: .: Work At Home United :.
You can view the link that says view more and then if you would like me to contact you, please click the link that says Get More Info. Now! and give some basic information and I get back to you! It only takes 25 minutes to get you all the details on the company so you can decide if we are a good fit for you. We may or may not be what you are looking for, but at least you’ll know.
Hugs,
Brandy
I have been with them and earn 3500 a month.

I agree that starting a business is one way to go. The only issue is that when you become passionate about the business, it's hard to take a salary out as you may feel that that pulling out the cash may slow down your growth.
With direct sales, you always get paid.
You can always do both, to get the best of both worlds.

If you’re not a smart salesperson, then avoid jobs that involve selling stuff to people. That would require strong persuasion and convincing powers. Why don’t you consider skill-based work like medical transcription? You may have to take classes to learn the job, but online medical transcription courses make it easy and convenient to get this training.

I like Vault Denim because I plan on having more kids and Vault Denim has announced that it will pay for Maternity leave, Adoption, Deployment or Death in the family for 2 months at 100%. Not many companies do this anymore!!! This is such a great company.

I agree! I don't like selling. I just can't do it. But I'm very happy working at home as a medical transcriptionist. You can read more about my experience in this field and get answers to common questions by visiting this website.
