Hi, I am new here and I am so glad that I found a site with help for daycare providers!
So to my problem, I have a 1 year old that just started at my home daycare and he cries and looks for his mom from the time he gets here till he leaves (except when he sleeps). He won't let me console him and isn't really eating because he is so upset. This is the first time he has been in a daycare and I feel so bad for him and his mom (she is feeling so bad about this). My question to everyone is how long should I give him to adjust to us? So far I have kept him 3 days and he hasn't shown any improvement. I really don't mind the fussing so much as I just don't like seeing him so unhappy.
She is going to bring him 3 days next week for only a couple hours a day and I am praying that that helps him see that she will be back. I haven't had to deal with this yet (most of my DC kids have to be made to go home) so I wanna give him as much time as I can without letting him get to the point where he is interupting the rest of our day. Any opinions would help greatly!!
