I have an idea to start a business from home and then maybe move to a little building, also on the internet. I just don't know how in the world you get going, especially if you don't have a whole lot to invest. Will banks give you loans, or are there other ways to get financial assistance? If you know of any good sites that would help, it would be greatly appriciated!

I think if you talk to the bank or some other financial institution. You may get your loan. But it might only be given theloan if the bank feels your business is worthy of the loan. Meaning it's something that might work great. They probably won't give a loan to a business that they don't feel is a sound investment to the bank. They want to know the business will be able to pay back that loan. Not sure if the bank will require you to have somewhat of a down payment towards your business before they give you a loan or not.
You can get a lot of help through the small business adminstration. You should go look at their website there is a lot of good info on getting started, writing a business plan, applying for a loan and stuff. Here is a link.
