Well, Nick FINALLY turned two so now he can live up to expectations!! We had his birthday party last Sunday and it was so much fun. It was pretty small, just family but that was perfect. The theme was Blues Clues (who would have guessed) and we had pizza and pasta and cupcakes. He got lots of cool little gifts from us. He got a thinking chair, some Melissa and Doug Puzzles and blocks, a VideoNow player with some Blues Clues and Oswald disks, a "Steve" shirt from Blues Clues with green stripes, some Crocs and we had bought him a cool sand box and wading pool in one but since we are moving we didn't put it up. Instead we got him a blow up pool with a little slide that he could play with for now. The best thing was his race car bed!! Yes, we bought him a cool Little Tikes blue race car bed and some Blues Clues toddler bedding. We are trying to get him to sleep in his own bed so we put it at the end of our bed and he's been sleeping in it every night right there. When we move we'll put it in his own room and hopefully the transition will be easier. So here are some pics of our birthday bash.
Here is his bed

Him in his thinking chair

Playing in his pool

Playing with his puzzles

Hey, are there any more goodies in there?

The cake

Looks like he got a lot of cool stuff! I LOVE that bed, I want one for me....seriously. He is getting so big Rhonda it is hard to believe that much time has passed already. I bet it's hard for you to imagine too! Where did your baby go & when did this little boy show up? When you get that sandbox/wading pool set up post some pics of that too. That sounds cool. I have never seen one. In the picture with the gift bag...is he IN the gift bag? It certainly looks like it in the pic. Too funny!

I know, I can't believe that he's not a baby anymore. When he sees himself in the mirror he still says "baby" and points but he just doesn't look like one anymore. I can't wait to put his bed in his own room. We move on the 1st and his room is right across the hall from ours and we can see into his and he can see into ours so I hope that will work for him. We'll be moving from a single to a two story house so I guess the baby gates go up again. I like his bed, but I love his wooden puzzles and toys. They are so great, expecially the three peg stacker that he's playing with in the picture. He absolutely loves it and plays for hours stacking all of the rings and squares on different pegs and mixing the shapes. In the picture of the bag, he's sitting right next to it and leaning all the way inside. I don't wrap up his gifts individually because it's a waste of time so I just buy a big ol bag and put all of it in one and he pulls them out. The sandbox and wading pool we got him is this one

Looks like he had a GREAT day! I love, love, love the BC bedding. Ben was a HUGE BC fan and would have loved that. Where did you find it? I may have to go get it and save it for when Alex is old enough. And that stacking toy is neat. I've never seen one so tall! I'm glad he loved everything and had a good 2nd birthday.

ebay!! I had to get all his BC stuff from there. You just cant find anything in the stores anymore because they don't make that show anymore, only Blues Room and Nick doesn't like that one. I got the bedding and 2 matching valances for $9.99 and managed to find 3 rolls of self stick wall border and a package of self stick wallies to match. I still stalk ebay daily for good deals on BC stuff. My MIL is a pretty good artist so she is making him a big poster with a hand painted Blue, Periwinkle, Mr. Salt, Mrs. Pepper, shovel, pail, Mailbox, tickety and side table drawer. All I had to do is supply her with pictures of the characters.

Wow! That's a great deal. Whenever you move him to a twin bed, let me know. I may need to buy that bedding from you!
