Hey everyone, I just thought I would drop by and update on Nick. He has just recently been diagnosed on the autism spectrum. It's been pretty difficult but he seems to be doing well with the course of treatment we have chosen. We decided to go all herbal and he's gone from several meltdowns per day to only a few per week. He's also now in pre-school for special needs children and receives occupational and speech therapy daily. He's a very smart boy and his developmental specialists and pediatrician believe that the early intervention will help to make him a perfectly funtional student in the academic setting.

Here are some recent pics of him. Part of his social integration problem is that he will not make eye contact and that goes for the camera also. A pic of him smiling for the camera is very rare and I couldn't seem to find any for you.

Our second snow storm about a week before Halloween.

His new big boy bed, no more toddler race car....

He loves to wear hats, any kind of hat...

He's such a cutie. I'm sorry to hear that he's been diagnosed on the spectrum, but I'm glad to hear that you've found a treatment that's working for him!

I'm doing pretty well. Nick is such a funny kid and we have good days and bad days. He's taking herbal supplements to help with his focus and attention and it's helped tremendously. Our tantrums are cut down to only a few per week instead of many a day and that makes it worth it right there.

I did have a few days that were very difficult right after the diagnosis but then I figured, hey, life is a journey and now we are just taking a different road with different scenery. Doesn't make it bad, just makes it different. So now, we are just going to sit back and enjoy the ride.

Rhonda, I can't believe how much Nick has grown! I'm glad the supplements and things you're doing for him are helping. With you on his side, I know he'll do great.
