For the last three nights, Alex has slept at least 8 hours straight (~10-6). WOOHOO!! And not only that, but he's waking up happy instead of screaming! It's wonderful!! Ben didn't sleep this well until he was about a year and a half old.

Yay for you! Now it's my turn to be jealous. Our one 7 hour night hasn't repeated itself, and it's actually gotten worse! Sally has been restless at night, not waking but still noisy. I have spent parts of each night the past week sleeping on the couch with her on my chest. It's the only thing I can find that will calm her down and let us both get some sleep. I'm starting to wonder if she's cold or something, unless she just wants her mommy!
Okay, so Alex is one week older than Sally... maybe this time next week my troubles will be over?

Alex wanders all over his crib at night but since I switched him from gowns to footed jammies, he's been sleeping better. I would put him with his head toward one end and covered with a crocheted blanket and go in for the middle of the night feeding to find him 180 degrees from where he'd been and the blanket right where I'd left it. Other than that, it may be because he's the second baby. Ben seriously didn't sleep through the night until he was 18 months old. He woke up at least once a night (usually more) until then. And he self-weaned at 9 months (I pumped for one more month and then used up the stash till his birthday), so he wasn't waking to nurse later on.

I say go with the "she just wants her mommy" reasoning. You get to enjoy the extra cuddle time that way!

I think we're going to switch to the footed jammies tonight too. The gowns are adorable, but they're getting too hard to get on her. These babies are growing fast!

I don't want to be the fly in anyones ointment, but Nicholas slept through the night from about 2 months until about 4 1/2 months and then all H E I I broke loose!! He's now over a year old and he STILL wont sleep through the night. I have tried everything with him and he just wont do it.

I've been trying not to get my hopes up too much that she will sleep through anytime soon. It's just depressing when it doesn't happen.

But let's hope Alex sleeps through for a long time!
