Sure, it's possible. I wouldn't think that Sally is having a problem with it, unless she is giving you cues that she is. I'm sure you would know if it was bothering her. As for you, could you use disposable gloves to apply it to her?

Both Balmex and Desitin make Nicholas cry when he has a rash so I think it stings him. I use Johnson and Johnsons No More Rash or Boudreaux Butt Paste and they both work a lot better and no irritation. Maybe it's something else used in the cream as an inactive ingredient that makes your fingers sore. My cousin uses California Baby diaper rash cream and its made with all natural ingredients. I dont use it becaus its kind of pricey, but I used it at her house and it worked pretty well.
