I have been meaning forever to share pics of my memorial garden. I still don't have a good one of it in bloom - as I added a bunch of new plants this year & they didn't really bloom until this year & then I was busy taking baby pics & trying to sneak a shower or nap & kept "meaning to"....and then it got so hot & dry here - that frankly it started looking a little rough.. But anyway... Here is a picture of Joel & I showing Jonah the memorial garden. I thought it was very sweet & I intend to make sure he knows about the angels that came before him & how we remember them.

That is so beautiful Beck!

You said you plan to tell Jonah about your angels. I was wondering about that - ie, whether it would be a good idea and how to tell something like that. I figured that I sort of have to tell Daniel one way or another because even if I didn't, he would eventually figure out that something was "missing". But then again, I don't want to burden him or complicate his life....

Any thoughts on how to approach that?

Paula

I think for Jonah he will never know any differently. I already tell him about them...I tell him about his angels & how they watch over him & us. I tell him their names & that they grew in my belly before he did, but that they left us before we got the chance to hold them and kiss them & play...and that sometimes things like that happen & even though it made us very sad when they left us, it is okay & because in time we began to heal & smile again. I want him to know that life can be very hard & even when it is we can take solace in the fact that it has been hard for others as well and they find happiness again. I want him to have a healthy & accepting attitude that we all are here for only a short while & we are blessed for each day we have together. I am sure he will have some questions as he gets older & I don't want it to be too heavy nor too sugar coated. I will have to figure out how to answer those questions as they are asked.

That is very thoughful and beautiful Beck. It makes a lot of sense and I guess it is the kind of thing I would like Daniel to know too. Thanks

I told Sally about the angel babies the first time we were alone, when we were still in the hospital. I've been wondering about what will happen when she gets older.
