Hi everyone,
Miles ended up having his surgery yesterday instead of today. The hosp. switched it at the last minute. The fasting part of it was definitely the worst. Miles nursed right at midnight but he was up again at 1am and he REALLY thought that he should nurse again to go back to sleep. He drank a little bit of pedialite and then I patted him back to sleep. The he was up again at 3am, very determined to nurse NOW. I tried to get my DH to take Miles out to the living room, thinking that he would take a bottle better without me right there. Well DH wouldn't do it. I guess he was just too tired. I'm still a little miffed about that. Here I was thinking that I would finally get a little more sleep because DH could care for Miles for once, since he couldn't nurse!

So, I took Miles to the kitchen and spoon fed him pedialite for 1/2 hour...just so he would have something in his belly before 4am when he wasn't allowed to have anything else. He finally went back to sleep at 5:15 am. Needless to say...I was tired yesterday. After the surgery, I decided that Miles and I would come home and sleep all day and DH could just go to work by himself.

Anyway...the surgery only took about 10 min. and Miles was happy as can be after. He nursed right away and he has seemed to have no pain at all. Here are a few pics of my little guy, taken after we were back in our room. The nurses gave him his cute little cap. They just loved him...they kept coming to the room and wanting to hold him.

These next two are of Miles funny face he has been making all the time lately. He wrinkles up his nose and sort of snorts. Did any of your babies do this?

Thanks again for all of your well wishes. While were at the hosp., I thanked God that we were only there for this tiny, inconsequential surgery and that Miles is healthy. We are truly blessed.

I'm so glad he made it through with flying colors! I know you're relieved to have it behind you, too.

And, OK, that little tiny hospital gown is about the cutest thing I've ever seen!
