has any one had their water break and if so what was it like?

I just got up went pee came out to get Jordan up and I bent over to get something and when I stood up I had a little gush of something, enough to start dripping down my legs (sorry) now I have had a TON of extra stuff this pregnancy but not sure if it was that or my water, I went and put a pad on to wait and if it happens again but it was watery, clear and had no smell sooo help?

so no water break or leak but they saw pooling?? I am having contractions but they sent me home anyways so I don't know what that means, are they not strong enough or what? and I am a fingertip dialated and 50% effaced. what does effaced mean and what should it be? I swear I left more confused than when I went in. I was told to do nothing and keep an eye on the contractions I DID NOT KNOW I WAS HAVING THEM I just thought it was the normal cramping I have been feeling. ughh I HATE THIS

There's risk of infection if your water broke and you don't go into labor immediately. I would get checked Shawna.

It's not stupid, that is why they are there. It's better safe than sorry...

My water broke with Evan! I was laying down on the couch, sat up, and had a small little gush. I thought I accidentally peed my pants so I went to the bathroom and went pee, wiped, and when I stood up there was another gush and I just knew that it was my water breaking... especially when it gushed a few more times after that.

I know its annoying to go in when it may be nothing but better safe than sorry. Mine gushed repeatedly... so I'm not sure if some people only have one little gush or not? You need to keep yourself and those twins healthy so GO!

well, i've had this very thing happen in my last pregnancy. i was just sitting at the computer and enough "liquid" came out that it was on the chair and ran down my leg. my doc suggested i go to the hosptial and get checked but nothing else happened. apparently i peed myself. i have had my water break and it was significantly more liquid. it's best to get checked. they check with a swab and then waited another 30 minutes and checked again. good luck!

When my water broke it was just a tiny bit, too. They'll put a test strip down there to check for fluid. Good luck!!!!!

Mine started like yours but there were several more gushes afterwards. I'm glad you are going in! I hope it's nothing and just those babies pushing on your bladder but it's best to go in just in case. KUP hun!

My water broke. I heard a small pop with I was sitting and when I stood up I had a good gush. Mine kept gushing. They have a little paper strip that they use to test and see if it was your water breaking or not.

Mine did with Noah. I was in bed trying to go to sleep and could really feel him going crazy in there, felt/heard a pop and felt fluid. It was only a little.. DH accused me of peeing. I got up went ot the bathroom and there was a little more. Then I just walked and it slowed. The babies head can block it so it doesnt keep gushing all the time. Glad you are getting checked out!! Hopefully they just kicked your bladder

Glad you are going in to get checked out! When my water broke with Owen it wasn't that much either. It woke me up out of dead sleep though. However when they tested with that strip the first time it said negative. It wasn't until the second time that they tested that they got the positive.

I really hope it is nothing though Shawna!

my water didn't really break but I had a small pin hole and it dripped, I called the doc and they tested me and said it was amniotic fluid and sent me to L&D
