People kinda look at me funny and it's only a couple words but they've never said a word. People i know though that i haven't seen in a while say "oh you are signing to him" and what else follows? "Does he have hearing problems?" Ugh...i simply say that i do it because its less frustrating to sign and to teach him sign so that he can communicate without pointing and either screaming or grunting. That drives me crazy, i honestly don't know how people deal with that.
I'm just wondering if anyone has gotten any comments lately about their signing! Jonah's starting to get more, because it is the only way he communicates to us, so he signs a LOT, and we sign a lot back. I've had people ask me if he is hearing impaired, or people assume he is.
The lady at the grocery store thought it was absolutely hilarious that he kept signing "banana" and I had to ask her if he could hold the bananas after she rung them up, because he was signing it and kind of starting to throw a fit over not having them. LOL She said "He knows what he wants, and he knows how to get it!" yup, that's my boy
