How do you and your LO sign "milk." Do you do it when you are speaking of any kind of drink, or do you have different signs for water, juice, etc?

Do/did you use "milk" to refer to nursing or bottles as well?

We only do milk for nursing and he doesn't take a bottle at all. We use the signs for water and juice so he knows the difference.

I tried to use milk only for nursing, and "drink" for when he had to have bottles. He used "milk" for both though. Now that he is getting sippy cups, he uses "milk" for any kind of drink, even though I've tried to introduce "juice" and "water" to him. He uses "milk" more to say "I'm thirsty" He will sign it if he hears the word milk or if he sees someone drinking, as well.

Nevan is only 4 mo, but i've been doing the milk sign almost everytime i nurse or give him a bottle... he doesnt drink anything else, but when he does, it will be the drink sign.. like drinking from a cup. Im watching to see if he does the milk sign with his fists , but he hasnt yet. I can tell he knows what it means tho and he associates it with milk. Now I can do the eat sign that ive intoduced cereal also.
