[Effervescence]

The sign of the week is "thanks!" I'll be posting some threads about giving thanks and saying thank you, as well as some related to the holiday!

Have you introduced this sign yet? If you have, in what situations do you encourage your child to use it? If you haven't, what would be the ideal time for your child to use the sign?

I haven't really introduced the sign yet, but I think I am going to start by teaching him that it is the sign to use if someone gives him something, like his milk or his snack etc.

Caoimhe knows this sign, will do it when prompted, but doesn't say it on her own yet. She doesn't understand the concept, but she does sign other polite words such as please and bless you on her own so maybe she'll catch on soon. I am hoping she'll say thank you when she gets her Christmas gifts (wouldn't her grandparents love that!) but I'm probably expecting too much for this year.
