How did your baby show you when he or she understood the meaning of the signs you are making? What signs did he or she understand first?

Jonah understood "milk" first. We used it for nursing. When he would be fussy and I'd ask him "Do you want to nurse?" and do the sign, he would change his cry from actual crying to sort of a fast paced grunting/crying and kick his feet up and down. He still does this when he wants something and sees that we are going to get it for him LOL

Milk was the first one they understood, quickly followed by bath. They both do the cry change when I sign milk to them. When we sign bath they get into a super good mood even if they are very grumpy.

That is too cute! I wish baths, or the thought of getting a bath soon, had calmed Jonah down when he was younger. He hated baths until recently!
