Has your child ever come up to you and started signing something but you just couldn't figure out what it was they were saying? My daughter has done this a few times. I realized she was trying to tell me something that she didn't know the sign to so she was just making one up for it. I actually thought for a second "Does she know a sign I don't?! Why don't I know what she's telling me?! LOL" That girl cracks me up sometimes.
I taught him the sign for banana, but he kind of adapted it in a way that I didn't recognize (but I can see where he is coming from, now!) I did not teach him any sign for "tissue." Not on purpose anyway, but I think I did by accident. He scrunches up his face and crinkles his nose whenever he sees tissues or has a runny nose. I've been paying attention to myself and realized that I would kind of make the same face and say "I need a tissue!"
