My 1 year old son is getting really good at signing. He know more, milk, all done and thank you. Lately he has been signing more when he needs things that he doesn't know how to say. For example, he got stuck and needed help, so he started signing "more", because he knows that he is communicating with me...
I looked up "help", but it seems a bit complicated. I might be surprised, and he can do it, but I am looking for similar words that might be easier... Any ideas?
Just popping in, but DS (18 months) started signing "help" a few weeks ago. Honestly, I hadn't introduced it before then for the same reason, but I realized it had become necessary. He caught on to it almost imediately! I was so shocked. He doesn't do the true sign for it, even though that's what I show him, instead, he clasps both his hands together in front of him and waves them up and down really fast It's cute, and it's close, and it gets his point across, so I've been going with it. Peter may surprise you and pick up the "help" sign or his own similar version very quickly.
