You spell his name very quickly!!

I was wondering BTW, how do you know how to say his name ?
Did you just chose this sign by yourself?

I chose a sign myself. I combined the sign "boy" with the sign for the letter "s". It's just made up, but its easier than finger-spelling his name all the way out each time.

I dug this up because I had started a discussion a few months ago about name signs. I am still thinking about what to do for names so I thought I'd open the discussion up again I thought that this was a good idea, and a great example of a name sign. It's good inspiration.

Thoughts? Has anyone introduced names to their child yet?

I made up a sign name for Kiki when she was little, but I dropped it soon after because she learned to say her name, so she never learned to sign it. I call her my little princess, so I used the sign for princess except I used the letter K instead of a P.

I have been wondering lately how to do names for her grandparents, as she has three grandmothers she visits often. I need something that will help me distinguish between them, but I haven't come up with anything yet. I guess I could just let them each make up their own sign name to teach her.

That's cute, using a K instead of a P for princess.

For DH's parents, I use the sign for grandma and grandpa followed by a J for their last name. That is what they wanted to be called, grandma and grandpa J- My mom likes to be called Gigi by the grandkids and my dad Papaw, so I've been thinking of something simpler for them.
