Does any one or has anyone taken a PSD file and converted it to HTML before??

My husband has a client who wants a website done. They have someone who knows photoshop and so she did up a website in photoshop - but knows nothing about HTML. But she heard you can convert a PSD file to HTML so they have asked me to do it. But I have no clue. I am looking on line and have not found much so I wanted to see if anyone on here has done it. I never work that way - I strickly code html and css. Looks like it would be a cool way to design a site though so if I can figure it out I might use it in the future. Thank you in advance ladies.

You can use imageready to generate the html. In fact IR does most of the work for you, breaking it up into tables and such for you. Not quite as clean as CSS but you can certainly modify the html to your liking. The site I showed you of my friend Beth was created in photoshop and I hand coded using strictly CSS. So you can use imageready OR if you are comfortable handcoding and the layout is not too complicated, you can use css.

Thank you - I will see what I can do this week. I have never used image ready before. Is it an "easy" to use program or quite complicated?

ImageReady isn't hard to learn, but I have found that hardcoding using CSS is a lot better. Especially if Search Engine Optimization is important. Having a clean code is important for that purpose.
