Anyone here good with Illustrator or at least know how to work their way around well?

I have used photoshop for years and am quite accustomed to it. I know designing logos and such is not such a great idea in photoshop, but Illustrator is just not as user friendly and I can't seem to accomplish in Illustrator what I know I could do in photoshop. But I really would like to know how to use it. I went to the library a couple months back and was talking to one guy that works there and he went to school learning graphic design and still couln't figure out Illustrator (he knew Photoshop like the back of his hand though) and he said it was a common complaint in his class. So I guess it is not just me. Anyone else out there in the same boat?

I have some Total Training and some Lyndia tutorials on Illustrator and I guess I just need to take the time to d o them. But I never seem to have enough time in my day, as I am sure you can all relate.

Anyway just your thoughts.

I am just starting to learn Illustrator myself. Only because we have some clients who tend to send us these type files for adding flyers to their websites. You are right that it can be a bit confusing on how to work with it and all. Exactly what are you trying to learn with this program? I will do my best to help you with what little I know.

In my honest opinion, I have found that most graphic designer prefer to use Photoshop for their logos. Especially when it comes to incorporating them in web designing. Clients tend to change the logos over time and it is much easier to make these changes in Photoshop than it is in Illustrator.
