I have a blog, facebook page, sometimes I buy advertising in digital scrapbooking publications. I have a creative team that posts layouts they've made to galleries, their blogs etc. and I pay them in product. I have a paid subscription to be able to post my products previews and advertisements at a large digital scrapbooking site and I can advertise for free in the forums for my store I sell in. My invites have so far been word of mouth. I did quite a few for the girls in Nolan's PR for birthdays and they have referred several friends and relatives for baby shower invites, engagement invites, and other birthday invites.

Social media is usually a fantastic option, I agree. Also word of mouth is probably the best advertising tool any freelance designer can utilize!!!
