I'm searching for a Bible verse that I recall from a previous study I participated in for my small group. I remember something about how we have to suffer a little bit in order to appreciate a blessing when it happens. I can't remember the exact words...but this was the gist of what it was about. Does anyone know it or would be able to help me locate it? Thanks!

Do you remember if it was OT or NT?

If NT, I think maybe Romans 8:16-18

16. The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. 17Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

18I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.

If OT, Psalms says a lot about our suffering.
