JOey's biopsy is now done. Couple concerns though. Fisr of all his bone is very soft, it took very little effort for the doctor to get the needle in to extract bone marrow. This is likely due to the amount of chemo and steroids he has been through already.
Second, and more alarming, is how difficult it was to extract bone marrow. And it was difficult. The doctor nearly gave up, after trying 4 or 5 times. However finally he did get some, though not as much as he had hoped. He told me that usually that means his bone marrow is involved. However he has never shown any signs of bone marrow involvement. I am confused and scared.
They are going to biopsy the peice of bone they took out, as well as the marrow itself. I will have answers on or before the 21st. Please pray his marrow is ALL CLEAR and we get NO surprises.
