What are you Thankful this year?

I am thankful that my mom is still here with us and I hope she can be for many years to come. I am also thankful that God has given me two wonderful children and a great husband.

What are you doing for the holidays?

I am not quite sure just yet, but I really really trying to convince DH not to go to Miami like every year and stay here and do Christmas at our house.Thanksgiving maybe going to Miami.

Have you done your Christmas shopping yet?

I'm about half way done with Christmas. Jocelyn is getting her first Kitchen and playfood and lots of clothes. Daniel is so far getting a Big car racer with loops, army stuff, clothes and who knows maybe some DS games.

Have you started decorating for Christmas? If not then when?

I actually started decorating today and put my tree up.

Do you usually go shopping on Black Friday?

I never do but DH does. I stay home because I dont think I can do it with two kids. LOL Maybe this year, I will leave him with kids and I go shopping by myself, lol.

I love your siggy picture, btw. Just gorgeous!

What are you Thankful this year?
So thankful for my husband, my beautiful, healthy children, my home.

What are you doing for the holidays?
For Thanksgiving, we are having a couple of single folks over and I will be cooking the meal. We celebrate Hanukkah as well. Christmas Eve, we have a candlelight service. I usually lead the service with carols and organizing special music & Scripture reading. This year, the kids are doing a handbell choir. Christmas day will be home with the family. Although we might still have a church service as it falls on a Sunday.

Have you done your Christmas shopping yet?
No. It's been tight this year. But I hope to start soon.

Have you started decorating for Christmas? If not then when?
After Thanksgiving we usually start

Do you usually go shopping on Black Friday?
Last year we were blessed to have a few stores give us their black Friday sales early (as we bought appliances for our new home). But generally, I do more online Black Friday sales.

What are you Thankful this year?

I'm thankful for God's love and how strong my faith has become over the last year. I'm thankful that my husband was able to spend most of this past year (minus 3 month) home with us. I'm thankful for the wonderful people God brought into my life, for family, friends and of course our wonderful dogs.

What are you doing for the holidays?

We invited my parents, my oldest sister Christine and her husband and my stepson Kevin and his girlfriend for Thanksgiving. My sister is so exited, it will be here first Thanksgiving Dinner.
On Christmas Eve we're going to church and then it will be just me and my husband and our furry babies. We're having shish kebab for dinner like every year (as long as I can remember) and then we're going to enjoy that we get to spend this day togehter. He won't be home for next Christmas, so we try to make this one extra special. Christmas Eve is very important in Germany, like Dec. 25th is for you. Christmas Eve in German means Heiliger Abend (holy evening).
On Dec 25th we're having lunch in a restaurant with the whole family (I have three sisters) and later we're having coffee and cake and German cookies (Plaetzchen) at my parents house.
Dec 26th is a Holiday in Germany, but since the Px will be open I bet we will do some after Christmas shopping.
As of right now we don't have any plans for Dec 31st.

Have you done your Christmas shopping yet?
Not yet, we're planing on driving to Ramstein sometimes in the next couple of weeks. Where we are stationed we only have a small PX, but in Ramstein is a Mall (yeah), so we're gonna do our Christmas shopping there.

Have you started decorating for Christmas? If not then when?
We won't decorate until after Thanksgiving.

Do you usually go shopping on Black Friday?
We only have the PX to that, but yes we do.

On Dec 24th (unless it's a Sunday - stores are closed on Sundays here in Germany) the stores are only open until about 2 pm. They reopen again on Dec 27th.
One thing I always missed when I lived in the States was that "Holiday feeling", with all the stores open it didn't feel like a Holiday to me.
Same goes for Dec 31st, stores are only open until about 2 pm.

Since DH came from Cuba 21 years ago, his family has always celebrated every Thanksgiving & Christmas there. I never celebrate Christmas with my family so I have spending every Christmas over there since we been married. I want something different and I refuse to spend a Christmas with my family, well because I can't really stand the arguing and fighting and cops, etc. There is always a show and my mom is very opinionated and like doing things her way or no way. I cherish my opinion and like to give it and not have an argument. anyways that's another topic, lol.

Well at least, I am having Thanksgiving in my house this year.
