Do you pray in a restaurant for eating your meal?

Honestly I am horrible about praying before meals. I got out of the habit when I no longer had a table to eat at.

yes...when we DO go out to eat! We just learned never to let my son, Christian say grace. He gives practically a sermon, and our food is cold before he's finished!

We never do. But maybe we should.

We all eat at different times because my son and my daughter both eat early. I always wait for DH to come home from work to eat with him. I do pray silently before eating because DH doesn't.

We ALWAYS pray before meals at home & we are getting better about praying before meals at a restaurant. We don't go out to eat much so I think we forget when we do sometimes but we have actually remembered the past few times which is AWESOME. That's something we all know we need to work on in our family.

No, or should I say not yet. I'm still new to being an active Christian. There are still so many things to learn for me, and sometimes it's a bit overwhelming to realize what I did or didn't to for many years. So praying before a meal is one thing. Maybe you can help me with that by telling me what you pray before you eat. Thank you. =)

You can pray just about anything, "Lord thank you for this food." Austin started ours years ago when he was smaller (probably about 9 or 10) so we've stuck with his prayer...

"God is great, God is good.
Let us thank him for our food & our family & our lives."

My BFF says hers something like this:

"Lord, please bless this food for the nourishment of our bodies & our bodies to your service."

I want to memorize hers a bit better. It's close to that but I'm not sure that it's word for word.

Anyway, that's a few versions!

Yes, we do.

Ours are similar, but we add "please bless the hands that made it." Given that I'm usually the one who cooks, I like that one. Plus, it's nice to use in a restaurant as we are praying for someone we've never met...the chef. That's kinda nice.
