Lets use Christmas lights for a Christmas object lesson that teaches about the light of Christ!
Bring a string of Christmas lights to plug in and light up.
Why we have Christmas lights? Think about what light is good for?
As you enjoy all the Christmas lights, remember the real Christmas Light.
Corinthians 4:6: "For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ."
One of the greatest things about light is that it helps us to see. The Bible calls Jesus the "light of the world."
John 8:12: "When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
He is the one that shows us the way to Heaven because He is the only way. We must follow Him.
John 14:6: "Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
Isaiah 2:5: "Come, let us walk in the light of the Lord."
Christmas Lights may burn out especially after the years but there is only One light that never burns out.
1 John 1:5: "God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all."
There is only One light that gives us hope.
Look at the glorious light of hope.
Matthew 4:16: "People walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned."
Revelation 21:23: "The glory of God gives light. The Lamb is a lamp."
There is only One light that saves.
See the Wonderful Light that saves.
1 Peter 2:9: "We belong to God, let us declare the praises of Him who called us out of darkness into His wonderful light."
Psalm 27:1: "The Lord is my light and my salvation."
There is only One light who always is with us.
John 1:9: "The true light that gives light to everyone has come into the world."
2 Samuel 22:29: "You are my lamp, O Lord; the Lord turns my darkness into light."
Psalm 76:1: "You are resplendent with light."
Psalm 4:6: "Let the light of your face shine upon us, O Lord."
So remember when you put up your Christmas lights then year to think who is your Real Christmas Light!
Thank you for sharing this again. I was one of the ones who missed it the first time around.
