I was given a 17 lb. spiral ham (I know, huge for my family, right? lol). I want to make sure that it does not get too dried out. So I thought about using a cooking bag for it. In the past, I've made ham with a pineapple, honey & dijon mustard glaze. What do you think?
I'd like to have a special side dish with it. I thought about au gratin potatoes. Usually I've done a candied yam casserole, but really don't want something too sweet. Wondering if I should just bake some sweet potatoes, or go with a pasta.
I'll probably make a green vegetable like green beans or broccoli.
Ugh! I'm a bit stumped as I'm not a huge pork fan. lol I have done boiled dinners with ham, cabbage, potatoes and carrots, in the past, but this is a spiral one.
We have a cheesecake for dessert (if that makes any difference lol).

I love spiral ham. You just bake it and serve it. Just about any kind of glaze would be delicious on it.
We always have a big bowl of ambrosia (various mixed fruits) to go with it. Maybe some fresh broccoli with cheese sauce.
How about some fresh bread to go with it?
We usually don't do a big Christmas dinner but the next day we are having people over going to do a big chilli and soup dinner with fresh bread breads and maybe some fruit to go with it. Just nice and cozy and warm.
