It is so hard to believe that it has been a week and a 1/2 since surgery and remarkably I can say I am doing very well. Still get very winded and tired when exerting energy but am able to get out of bed without assistance and can get up and out of a chair without help too. The pain is manageable and my appetite is slowly coming back; all of the wonderful meals that have been brought in have slowly peaked that. Thank you to all who have helped in the past week. My first appt is doctor's appt is this Friday. I have spoken to Aaron and Odette a few times in the past week and he is doing well as all; his first doctor's appt showed that his kidney is functioning well and his pain is getting under control as the days pass. My exciting news is that tomorrow Fox 17 is coming out to interview me and to contact Aaron to do a feature on people who "pay it forward" to a stranger. I was nominated for this and am flattered but a bit embarrased by the focus. However after much thought and prayer with Tom and speaking with Aaron we feel this is the perfect avenue to get the word out there about the need for living donors right here in West Michigan as well as the need to have people visit with those while they receive their dialysis. I will send out a note again when I find out when this will air. Please continue to pray for the recovery of Aaron and I and pray that God will use this interview as a tool to educate our community and to help others. Thank you again for all your thoughts and prayers; words can not express our gratitude.
