What songs give you strength to get through struggles? I lost a baby at 6 weeks last month and now that I should be farther along I feel more and more empty...and have been listening to a lot of music trying to get the strength and heal. What are you favorites?

I listen to lots of songs that tend to help me. It changes depending on what I need. Right now the song Love Me is really special to me. Most anything by Casting Crowns tends to be wonderful for me.
I am so sorry for your loss. What you are feeling is perfectly normal.

Okay....going to totally date myself here...hehe But I found this song that used to really bless me when I was a teen. Wow! Even after all these years, it still blesses me. Simple lyrics, but great message!

I really love this song because I am always trying to imagine what it would feel like and what I would see.

YouTube - mercymeVEVO's Channel

I am hoping one day DH would lead us and ask God for strength so I love this song. Actually my 5 yr old son was the one that pointed out that one day Daddy would lead us like this guy was trying to.

For all those who know how un-technical I am. This will be a big step for me.

I"m so sorry for your loss..

Lots of songs help me when I am down.. But this song helped me through my pregnancies when I was high risk..

YouTube - Meredith Andrews - You're Not Alone (Music Video)

Quote:
You're Not Alone

I search for love
When the night came and it closed in
I was alone
but you found me where I was hiding
and now I'll never ever be the same
It was the sweetest voice that called my name
saying

You're not alone
for I am here
let me wipe away your every fear
My love I've never left your side
I have seen you through the darkest night
and I'm the one who's loved you all your life
All of your life

You cry yourself to sleep
cause the hurt is real
and the pain cuts deep
All hope seems lost
With heartache your closest friend
and everyone else long gone

You've had to face the music on your own
but there is a sweeter song that calls you home
saying

You're not alone
for I am here
let me wipe away your every tear
My love I've never left your side
I have seen you through the darkest nights
And I'm the one who's loved you all your life
All your life

Faithful and true... Forever
For my love will carry you....

You're not alone
for I... I am here
let me wipe away every fear... Oh yeah
My love I've never left your side
I have seen you through your darkest night
Your darkest night
And I'm the one who's loved you all your life
All of your life

Here's a few songs that come to mind as well..

YouTube - Steven Curtis Chapman - Beauty Will Rise - Lyrics

^-- Steven Curtis Chapman wrote this song to help with healing after he lost his daughter to a tragic accident.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQEQeiZPw6A

Quote:
Heaven is the Face
Heaven is the face of a little girl
With dark brown eyes
That disappear when she smiles
Heaven is the place
Where she calls my name
Says, "Daddy please come play with me for awhile"

God, I know, it's all of this and so much more
But God, You know, that this is what I'm aching for
God, you know, I just can't see beyond the door
So right now

Heaven is the sound of her breathing deep
Lying on my chest, falling fast asleep while I sing
And Heaven is the weight of her in my arms
Being there to keep her safe from harm while she dreams

And God, I know, it's all of this and so much more
But God, You know, that this is what I'm longing for
God, you know, I just can't see beyond the door

But in my mind's eye I can see a place
Where Your glory fills every empty space

All the cancer is gone
Every mouth is fed
And there's no one left in the orphans' bed
Every lonely heart finds their one true love
And there's no more goodbye
And no more not enough
And there's no more enemy
No more

Heaven is a sweet, maple syrup kiss
And a thousand other little things I miss with her gone
Heaven is the place where she takes my hand
And leads me to You
And we both run into Your arms

Oh God, I know, it's so much more than I can dream
It's far beyond anything I can conceive
So God, You know, I'm trusting You until I see
Heaven in the face of my little girl
Heaven in the face of my little girl
I always tear up when I hear the words that I put in bold..
