I
really enjoyed church this morning.
We went to a sister church today because the kids (from our church) were performing their human video and another song. They did a great job!! Kathryn had a solo part and Steven played Satan in the video. He did great. He really relished the part. Maybe a little
too much.

I was actually tearing up at the end of it.
Besides that, I really enjoyed the sermon. It was a small start up church so the service was very informal and there was some discussion and talk between the preacher and the congregation.
He was speaking on the last part of the sermon on prayer. Listening to God. This really is the final step to prayer. Because prayer can't be a one way communication. It must be a two way give and take.
This fit right in with what I have been struggling with on how to teach my kids to listen to God and how he really does speak to us.
The sermon started out with a clip from Field of Dreams when Kevin Costner hears his voice in the field and everyone else thinks he is crazy.
Than to Samuel being called by God while serving in the temple as a young boy. ( I always loved this story) and not recognizing that the voice was from God. We often don't recognize the voice of God or think people will think we are crazy when we talk to God.
God does speak to his people in 1000 different ways. Often we don't recognize it. And yest he can even speak to us and talk to up if we need it. We need to listen and respond when God talks to us.
