We dedicated our handicapped elevator making our church handicapped accessible (a 7 year project). Hubby spoke about the man with palsy, who had friends that brought him to Jesus, even though it required them to cut through the ceiling and lower him into the crowded building. He shared how we need to be like those friends who recognized the need and cared enough to put some action behind their prayers.

I really got a lot our of my women's bible study and church this week. I have already covered some in another thread but the other thing I really got a lot out of was preparing for kids church. A lot of times I learn more when I prepare a lesson than when I just listen to one. The kids I teacher are 3 - 5 grades.
The topic was Why Care about School. The curriculum I am using has good topics but are often weak in relating them and linking to the bible. So I start digging and doing my research. There were a couple vs. in proverbs that talk about gaining knowledge and wisdom. But that was about it. I kept getting a real strong pull/ direction from God back to the Book of Wisdom. The Book of Wisdom is not in the Protestant bible, but in the Catholic bible. It is a book written by King Solomon about the vast wisdom that God gave him. It's an awesome book and it talks so much about wisdom and learning and how all things are under the authority of God.
I had a lot of conflict using this, but I told everyone what the book was and the full backgroud of the book before using it. I know I did the right thing, but I am kind of backing up waiting for repercussions from someone.
I think we (protestants) kind of got jipped on this one. We get King Solomon's love poems. (which we, pruddy people, probably need) but the Catholics get a whole book of wisdom, written by the wisest man to every live. Hmmmmmm
