I have mentioned a couple times here and on the hide-away that I have been hoping and looking for a place or group of friend for my son to get in with and establish some solid friendships. He hasn't really done that since we have moved here.
So today, as I was waiting to get my DD from her children's church. I over heard a man talking to someone standing right behind me. He was talking, jokingly, about the 16, 6th grade boys that get together at his house and hang out and support each other and have a good time together. Hearing this, I turn around, completely interrupt his conversation, introduce myself. Found out about his group and who exactly it is for, what kinds of things they do and tell him about my 6th grade boy. He says they are having a cookie swap tonight at 6:00 and Steven is welcome to come. I get all his information and business card. I drag him over to meet Steven and gets Steven interested in going. So tonight he goes and has a great time!! They have a zip-line in their back yard, a trampoline, played a version of capture the flag and more cookies than you could eat. I think there was a little devotion in there too. What more could an 11 year old boy want .
Thank you for your prayers about Steven and Thank you God for the ways your plans work out. Thank you, thank you!
Praise God for friendships!
I'm so happy to hear this! Sounds like its a really good group. Praying that God would be in the midst of these new friendships and that Steven continues to enjoy their fun and fellowship.
