I wish I could help. Tye Tribett makes really upbeat music that is similar to hip hop.

My girls love the old school stuff.
Newsboys
Audio Adrenaline
D.C. Talk
Supertones
Mary Mary (definitely hip hop. They have some new stuff too)

Some of the newer stuff we love
Need to Breathe
Tenth Avenue North
Mandisa
TobyMac

Ditto to Tenth Avenue North and Toby Mac (we have seen both in concert, great choices!)

On the hip-hop side:

KJ-52 - in fact my husband just bought his newest
Group 1 Crew

For pop, I suppose it depends how you define it (I am not great with that kind of thing), but I think I would put the ones below as newer/younger pop:

Sidewalk Prophets - we have seen as an opener, and I liked
Rush of Fools - we have seen as an opener, and I liked
Revive - we have seen as an opener, and I liked
The Museum - I haven't seen, but DH has the CD and likes
Switchfoot - I haven't seen, but DH has the CD and likes

I should note that I asked my husband this question because while I love music I don't have a clue about the who sings what. I just said " remember that band we saw as an opener at XX church, where the guy wore a purple sweatshirt ... who were they?" .. and he knows. He then wanted to know why I asked and pulled out his bokk of CD's and flipped through it to give me more names.
