I don't care for extreme cold, but I am very sick of 90 and 100 degree days with no central air conditioning. Dealing with those while pregnant is miserable. Right now, it's a much more comfortable 75-80 outside. The good things about fall and winter are pumpkin spice lattes and hot cocoa and anything else hot. It's a little cloudy here and I'm praying for rain! Our area needs it badly.

I've always dreamed about living on a farm. I've loved animals since I was very small. I know its a lot of work, but I still really want to give it a try some day. When I have a house with a larger yard, I want chickens. Fresh eggs are so good!

My kids love love working with the cattle It is a yucky kind of day, rainy and chilly but 3 kids are out working with the guys.

We have started a bible study for young adults Yes I still get to join that group . So every Wednesday night we go to friends house with all the children so DD#1 is on babysit duty of 4 familys so only 14 kids

I grew up in an empty part of California's High Desert. My parents always had land, but for the most part the only pets we had were whatever critters I would catch and bring home. We had a dog and my parents eventually bought me parakeets but that was it lol. I did take riding lessens on a ranch as a kid and would want to stay there all day afterwards helping with the horses. Good memories there. I would like for our children to grow up with an appreciation for animals. It's ok if they don't get my love (borderline obsession lol) for animals, but I do want them to appreciate God's creation.

Bible studies are fun!! We are about to go to one in a couple of hours. It's us and 5 or so other couples meeting at the home of one of the 5. We discuss the sermon of the previous Sunday and relevant Bible verses. The only thing that's hard about going is DD rarely does well in the nursery. She gets horrible separation anxiety.

Hey, it's good to see someone else has joined in!!

We're currently not in a couples bible study. On the one hand I kinda miss it, on the other hand, we're probably in our busiest time ever in our family, so it's ok. We'll get back to it soon enough.

I am carving pumpkins with my sil and her kids later today.

Something we like to do is have our own Bible studies just at home. We did that before we found our church we settled down at. We would do some reading and discussing together after dinner, in the mornings, whenever we could fit it in. It wasn't that we were too busy to go to one so much as we just hadn't found a church we could settle into at that point in time.

Ohh pumpkin carving.. And all those delicious left over seeds.. Yum! I haven't carved a pumpkin in years. I'm pretty rusty lol.

Most of my kids had the past 5 days off, but there seemed to be a lot going on. I am glad to have 3 days at home, I have quite a list that just requires some attention, and now I have the time to get to it. Plus I am peopled out, I'm happy to be alone today. As per usual, it's the calm before the storm

Same old same old around here. Nothing huge to report. I did get a new (to me) laptop weekend before last, a 15 inch 2010 MacBook Pro so I've been busy getting that set up with all my stuff so I can wipe my old MacBook Pro and sell it in the next couple months. That's about the only interesting thing over the last week lol.

DD of course does cute, interesting stuff every day. I got my husband into a show called Avatar: The Last Airbender. One of the big, but friendly beasts on that show (a pet of one of the characters) is named Appa, so when he comes on, Lily says "Appa! Appa!" Over and over lol. It's pretty cute.

I guess we just keep telling them to join in, and share boring or not so boring things. I feel like I say pretty mundane things all the time, and yet, I like hearing what goes on in your lives. And look, we've gone up by 50% in participation, with Skybaby joining in!

It's just madness around here, and that's just life I guess. Tomorrow is my youngest birthday, she is going to be 8. Sunday I am having the family over for the birthdays, because it's #3's birthday on wednesday.

My house is a DISASTER!! so that's what I'm doing today. And makind cupcakes for when my mom comes over later for the birthdays as she's leaving on a mission trip tomorrow. And a drs appointment for the kids. and and and

DD#1 has also started singing in the worship group at church. She is the only teen/child, but she is excited !

DD has been seeing an early intervention specialist person through the local regional center. What this woman and others in her field do is help babies who don't seem to be meeting their milestones on track and give parents tools so they can help their kids, too. She comes over once a week on Tuesdays. Lily is seeing this woman because she isn't talking yet and we are trying to figure out why.

I took Lily for a hearing evaluation a couple days ago and to have her ears checked at a place that works with the regional center and the news isn't good. She has fluid in her right ear and negative pressure in her left. We know she can hear and she even has directional hearing so we know she can hear out of both ears, but what we don't know is how well she can hear all the sounds in a word if that makes sense. She did pass her newborn hearing screening.

I got the results of all this on paper for her pediatrician to look at but there's a little insurance hiccup and can't take her in to him until I get this insurance thing straightened out. He's probably going to order a special hearing test that requires her being sedated and having electrodes stuck to her head that will monitor her brain's subconscious reaction to sound stimuli. I've been told it's the only accurate hearing test they can do on babies too young to sit through a regular hearing test. The only hospital that does it is 3 hours away, near where my parents live so at least we can see them.

I have to get my sugar test done this pregnancy sometime in the next week or so. The first one that's an hour or two long. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with DD since chasing after her might be a little difficult. Thankfully the lab is only 5 minutes from my house.

A busy week and month ahead for us.

Ugh, the sugar drink! Hope you get the insurance thing figured out quickly. Let us know how everything goes.

We had a few very busy days, with lots of people over, but it was very nice. We also had a big snowfall, so today is a snow day, because the roads are bad. I normally like a snowday, but the kids have thursday afternoon off and don't go back to school till wednesday, so I would have been fine with them at school. On the other hand, the house is a big mess from all the company, so now I've got helpers.

Well I'm here in the lab right now waiting through the last 20 minutes of the sugar test. I'm not even a little queasy, which I'm very happy about and that was my main worry about actually taking it. Now I'm praying for good results. I am counting down the seconds to finally being able to eat this morning lol!

After this test, I'll be heading to the next city over to buy a car seat for the inlaw's cars. Then i have a long list of phone calls I need to make today and do some cleaning if I have any energy left. DH and I have been getting rid of a lot of junk and old clothes and stuff we just don't need and packing away other stuff into storage. We're not moving or anything, just reorganizing and making room for the new baby. This process is gonna take a while. Nearly third trimester and haven't done anything for this baby yet.

decluttering is a constant thing...although now that my kids are older, it's a little better.

Several exciting things over here, my middle girl is 13 today! I'm Sunday School co-ordinator in our church, and my parents and a few others are at a Daycare in Mexico, volunteering. I had our sunday school kids draw pictures for the kids there, and took pictures of our kids. This morning on fb I saw pics of it. My youngest was thrilled to see them looking at the card she made.
Also, supercool: seeing my dad with the children. I was shocked when my mom said he'd agreed to go, he is so not the mission trip type of person, so it was just great to see.
Our sunday school kids also collected craft supplies for them, and I had bought a bunch of stickers, and there were pictures of them using the stickers too. Best $6 I ever spent!

We just can't stay on top of the clutter. We have a small house with very little storage space, so even the necessities make it feel cluttered and crowded.

Hoping to get Lily into her pediatrician tomorrow to get a referral to a pediatric ear specialist. I was going to do it today, but just realized I left a vital piece of paperwork in my car and DH took my car to work and left me his. I left it in my car so it wouldn't get lost, I just didn't think to get it out yesterday evening.

We are sick. Again. Third cold this season. I never got sick once while pregnant with Lily. This time, if someone so much as sneezes around me, I'm sick. I think she picked up this cold from another baby in the nursery. The poor little guy had a cough and runny nose and now we do too.

colds are the worst while pregnant, you can't take anything for it. Hope you both feel better.

My first house was like that too, the whole living room seemed messy if there was a cup left on the table.

I am hooked on a Christmas song, how crazy is that? (This is Christmas by Kutless)
