I just kind of barged in here. I was so excited to see that there was a Christian parenting forum that I didn't even take time to introduce myself. Sorry!
My name is Stacey and I live in Utah. You might think that is a strange place to find a Christian and you would be right, but God is definitely working here. Our church could definitely use all of your prayers. Our pastor is new as of April and our town is growing by leaps and bounds with an oil field boom. We have new members all the time, but this sort of thing has happened before. With much growth can come problems. Don't get me wrong we are SO excited to have new members, but we just need prayer cover so that Satan won't gain any foothold in our church. He hates to see people coming to Christ!
A little about my family--I am married to an ex-Mormon who has a huge family of Mormons. We have a little girl who is 27 months that we love like crazy. We are trying to get pregnant again. Our little girl needs a little brother or sister!

Okay, here is a little more about myself. I am a Southern Baptist (eek....I know that is a bad word to some people). I came to know Christ at the age of 7 and was baptised a week later during evening worship time. I was brought up by parents who had me in church every Sunday, but had a very unhappy home life. My parents hated each other and fought not daily, but every time they saw each other. They divorced when I was 13 and we moved to Utah where my mom married her old boyfriend-----that situation wasn't good either and they got divorced after I went to college. I met my husband when we first moved to Utah (he is the cousin of my step-brothers on their mom's side). We never dated until after my first year of college. Once we started dating, we were together every minute. He comes from a mormon family and I knew that I probably shouldn't be dating him, but I was stubborn and in love. We discussed our faiths often and even broke up over the matter. I would have never married him as a Mormon, although I never told him that. I'll tell you what, I could have talked myself blue in the face to him and it would have never worked. I went to Oklahoma to visit my dad and grandad as all of this was going on and my grandad gave me the BEST advice. He is VERY Southern Baptist (I would have thought he would say, dump the ol boy!), so I would have never dreamed of him saying this, but, he told me that the best thing to do is pray hard and God would bring my boyfriend to Christ in his own time. Once I started doing that, God really started working on him. This guy at the place he worked gave him a really good book that looked into Mormonism and my then boyfriend started researching it on his own and attending church with me. After a couple of months, I prayed to God what I should do because I didn't know all this was going on (other than him going to church with me) and I got a definite answer that I should just wait. Soon after that, my husband went forward in church and gave his life to Jesus! I was SHOCKED to say the least! Needless to say, we got married and now have a wonderful life.
We are both very active in church. We are there almost every time the doors open. I teach 4-6 grade Sunday School class and my DH teaches the high school class. I take my turn in the nursery during church and in the pre-school class as a helper on Wednesday nights. I taught the 3rd and 4th grade class at Vacation Bible School this year. It was lots of fun and much harder than the crafts class that I did last year.
My DH's family is all still Mormon. He only has one cousin that has come out of it, so they really need prayer. We have now begun to pray that God will send someone else their way to lead them to Christ because we can't really talk to them anymore. It results in a fight between Wes and his dad and his mom ends up crying. I just pray that the Holy Spirit will work in their lives.
Wow, that was a lot of stuff to tell people you don't even know, but you ladies seem really sweet. I can't wait to get to know you all better!
