So, although I have been struggling the past few months, I have really been ok too. There are still far too many blessings and far too much joy to wallow in pain or pity. Last night, as usual, God spoke to me as I opened up a new book I have on Bible Readings. I just wanted to share a couple of versus that are so relevant to me right now and I hope important to anyone out there who might find comfort in them.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33
Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better. Ecclesiastes 7:3
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. Isaiah 43:2
There is so much more, but I do believe that if we listen, He will speak to us and comfort us. I can't believe I spent so many years looking for answers in all the wrong places.
Thank you and blessings to everyone here who is so loving and supportive.
Thank you so much for sharing those verses. I really needed them today. We have had some struggles in the past while, and it is nice to know that God cares for us and he has a perfect plan. It is really perfect time, since we went to a funeral for a good friend yesterday. Thank you. xoxox
