I lurk here from time to time, and since I finally posted on one of your topics, I thought it would only be fitting that I introduce myself.
I'm Chrystal... co-host of the Dec 05 PR and the Financial Board. I've been married since 2002. Ben ("Ruben" ...named after my dad) came Dec 1st, 2005. I was raised in the conservative, non-institutional church of Christ. My husband is agnostic and firmly believes in the big bang, evolution, etc. Ben comes to church with me for now (which we agreed on before dh and I got married), and someday when he's old enough to ask the tough questions (mid to late teens) he can decide for himself what to believe. My family is in AR... I'm in TX, so on Sunday/Wednesday, I kinda feel like a single mom, but I know that my faithful attendance is teaching Ben and encouraging others who might not have it so tough. I have a small window of opportunity to teach him. It's one of the reasons his middle name is Timothy... The Timothy of the Bible (as I'm sure you know) was taught by his mother and grandmother, and he had a non-believing father. I hope one day that a man like Paul will take Ben under his wing and teach him to spread the word to every nation.
Hi Chrystal. We are so glad to have you here! I'm so proud of you for faithfully bringing your son to church. I know it can be hard to feel like you are doing it alone. When I first started going to church, I sat alone (mostly)....some of the grandmas of the church took me under their wing. At the time that I was dating my husband, he was of another faith but came to church with me. After he accepted Christ, the pastor's wife told me that she had been praying to God for a "buddy" for me to go to church with. Little did she know that God sent me a Christian husband instead. I'm sure you've been praying for your husband. Just keep it up. Ask others to pray for him too. You can be sure that God will work on his heart.
Hello and welcome to CP! It must be hard taking your little one to Church and dh stays home. It's good that you are taking your son to Church at this age. My name is Barb and I have 1 daughter. Her name is Michelle. Dh and I are trying for baby #2. Welcome again.
