anyone know of stuff i can do at home to make money???
I think there is a board on JM for that----it seems like I took a look at it once. There are lots of things you can do from home---it just depends on your interests. Some people sell Avon, some sell scrapbooking stuff or beads, or even candles, jewelry, or t-shirts. Also, if you wanted to get started on e-bay, lots of people go to the sales at the end of the season and buy clothes dirt cheap and make pretty good profits off of them. I would like to do that, but I don't live in a city. I hope this helped somewhat.
You should check out both the WAHM board, frugal living board, and the financial planning board here at JM.
On the WAHM board, just post what you are/aren't interested in, what you've tried in the past (whether you liked it or not), etc. That way people can give you some informed suggestions. There are "jobs" like call center jobs that you can do from home (provided you have a quiet room w/o background noises), and there are "businesses" you can do with very little start up cost. If you're a crafty kind of person, you can even start your own business making/selling crafts. Things that have a high profit are jewelry and t-shirts. Jewelry especially costs very little to make, but you can make a huge profit off the finished products at local/county fairs.
On the financial planning board, you can post your income and budget as well as your debts, and we'll show you ways you can cut costs without cutting your lifestyle if at all possible. The frugal living board is great for finding ways to do things cheaper. If you're not already using cloth diapers, check out the cloth board as well. You can save thousands of dollars that way.
Any friends have children that you could watch while they work? We paid $120-130/week for licensed home-based child care. I think you can watch just a few kids, though, without requiring a license, you just couldn't charge quite as much.
Do not sorrow; the joy of the Lord is your strength." Neh. 8:10
A friend of mine put out an add for housekeeping and got so busy so fast, it is now her full time job and she charges $26 per hour and sets her own schedule. She even cooks some meals for people for extra money.
Definitely the frugal mom board, the wahm and the budgeting and financial planning boards would be well worth a look.
Try not to stress and put it all in God's hands. I know it will work out for you.
Since hubby's job hours got cut, is there a way you could do something like this where you can work while he is home with babies?
