I'm sure most of you have seen this on the news, but I am just so sad about it. The 6 miners are still trapped in the mine here....12 days now, I think. There is no sign of them and no one knows if they are alive or dead. There has been a rescue effort going on for them since the mine collapse and now 3 rescue workers are dead as of last night. They were working to try to get to the trapped miners and there was a "bump" (seismic activity) in the mine that was pretty substantial. Six rescue workers were hurt and rushed to local hospitals and 3 were killed. Now they have stopped the ground rescue effort for now because it is just to dangerous to continue the work. They are still attempting to drill holes about 2000 feet into the ground from the top of the mine to locate the men trapped inside. The have drilled 3 different holes so far and there is no sign of the men anywhere. This very bad and sad situation has just gotten a lot worse.

I've been sort of following this on the news. Every afternoon I work out in a small gym at work and the only channels we get on the tv in the gym is news, so I've been sort of following it, and its sooo sad..

This story just makes my heart ache. I've been following it on the news, and everyday I think, "surely today will be the day they get to the miners." But its just not happening that way. Its so very sad.
