She just measured me and listened to the heartbeat and I expressed my concerns about me being sick and going to L&D and that they never checked me etc..
She decided that she would rather play it safe than sorry, since i am still contracting on and off.. So I got a full exam. They went ahead and did the strep B test and checked for bacteria etc. She said I do have vaginal bacteria that could be causing irritability. She is prescribing me some meds to treat it.. and she said that I am 1cm dilated. She said it's not uncommon with it being my 5th pregnancy... BUT, she said since I am having all these symptoms along with it, she'd feel better playing it safe. She said that the contractions very well could be causing the dilation... or it could just be my cervix. Either way, I was instructed to drink tons of water (obviously), not lift ANY children or objects, stay off my feet as long as I can (including at work) and to head STRAIGHT to L&D with any signs of more contracting. She stressed that I go in immediately with how early I am and how fast my deliveries are..
I go back in two weeks and in another 2 weeks so she can monitor the progress etc.
I am nervous. I really don't see my body holding her in for another 8 weeks..
So sorry I have not responded to this until now! I just never get over here...please forgive me! I really do care!
I am glad to hear that things are not really really bad...I went and lurked you a bit(lol) after reading this because I was nervous that something had happened since you had not been on here in like 9 days. Anyway glad to hear you both are fine for the time being! Keep us posted!
It was very uneventful.
My regular midwife wasn't there, so I saw a different one. She just blew me off too. UGH! I give up... no one will take me seriously about the pressure and cx's. She just said "it's normal". UHMmmmmm, I've had THREE children! I think I know what my body does!
Sorry, can you sense the irritability??
So, anyway, I was told the typical crap... if I have more than 5 in one hour, so in to L&D. If they get too painful, I don't have an hour! My daughter was born in 1.5hrs. She did say that I am close enough for them to not stop my labor if anything happens.. Not sure how I feel about that. I am hoping to make it 2 more weeks at least to my 37 week mark. I will feel alot better about her coming then. 35 weeks just kinda freaks me out. I have a HUGE fear of having to leave my baby in the NICU.
I go back on the 4th (36 weeks) and then again at 38 weeks (they didn't have an opening for my 37th week ). We shall see if I make it to my 38th week appt.
