How did you give birth to your birth child? I had a vaginal birth with my Birth Daughter, Rebecca (with an Epidural!)
Do you have a birth story for them? The night of my senior prom I was laying in bed and I heard a loud "pop" come from my belly. I stood up right away, because it freaked me out. Nothing happened, so I went to the bathroom, when I was walking towards the bed to go to sleep I had a big gush of water. I freaked out, and called my Mom (she was upstairs lol) we hurried to the hospital. After 8 hours they started to induce me since my water had broke and nothing else was happening. I ended up getting an epidural at the same time that they started the pitocin. 17 hours after my water broke, Rebecca was finally born. I only had to push for about 20 minutes, but I was so exhausted and had horrible back labor, it took every last bit of strength I had!
How were things different than you wanted/expected for their labor and delivery?
I was only 17, so I really wasn't sure exactly what I wanted, but I'm happy with how things went. I was glad my water broke at home (I was worried it would happen at school!), and overall everything went smoothly.
I was induced at 38 weeks with Olivia due to Preeclampysia. I had been on bed rest for weeks with it and I was still having uncontrolled blood pressure. They started the pitocin early in the morning on the 3rd of December and I labored all day but never made big progress. So they stopped the pitocin and restarted it early the next morning with me contracting still all night. I got an epidural sometime during the day on the 4th and she was born in the early evening.
I think things went as smoothly and as well as they could have. I was young, scared, and just wanted things to be over with. I just did NOT want a c section and they were really pushing for one since the induction wasn't going so well at first. Anything else was fine by me.
