Magical Properties of Almond Oil

Almond (in general) is associated with the element Air. Wands can be made out of almonds since wands are also associated with the element Air. Used in prosperity/money rituals.

It is an excellent emollient (softening and soothing to the skin) and also helps the skin to balance water loss and absorption of moisture. It is further a great moisturizer, suitable for all skin types, but is especially good for dry or irritated skin. Helps relieve irritation, inflammation and itching, and is greatly lubricating. Because the oil does not penetrate the skin overly quickly, it is a good massage medium to use to help spread the oil and essential oil mixture, while still allowing you time to do a good massage before it is absorbed by the skin. It also helps to relieve muscular aches and pains. Almond oil also protects against harmful UV rays. Shelf life is 12mths.

Olive oil is another good one for the skin and hair. Not so much for a carrier oil, though. I tend to stick to jojoba oil or grapeseed oil.

I can't say I've ever used almond oil. I'll have to give it a try sometime.

I've used almond oil, olive oil, jojoba oil, and a few others and all are great carrier oils for massage therapy. Each have a slightly different use with how well they are absorbed, but I like all of them. Normally I don't mix much with almond oil because of it's great smell, which is very light and airy. Great info, again!
