Esbats are rites held for the purpose of communing with the Moon's energies and are regarded as the time for most magical workings. This is the time in which to attract, banish, invoke protect, or to perform many other magical workings. There is 1 full moon each month and the 13th Moon is called the Blue Moon, this occurs when four full moons fall within the same season (or 2 full moons fall within the same month). In some traditions, the three moon phases are linked with the Maiden, Mother and Crone.

January – The Wolf Moon
February – The Storm Moon
March – The Chaste Moon
April – The Seed Moon
May – The Hare Moon
June – The Dyad Moon
July – The Mead Moon
August – The Corn Moon
September – The Harvest moon
October – The Blood Moon
November - The Snow Moon
December – The Oak Moon
