August is the time for harvesting, gathering, and appreciating. Start collecting, drying and storing your herbs! To honor your Divine, bake breads to give thanks to the growth of grain and herbs. The energy flow is slowing more and now is the time of vitality, health, and friendships.



Also known as: Barley Moon, Dispute Moon, Weodmonath (Vegetation Month), Harvest Moon,
Wort Moon (Anglo-Saxon word “wyrt” meaning plant-gathering herbs), Ripe Moon, Blackberry Moon, Green Corn Moon, Dispute Moon, Red Moon,
Piscary Moon, Thunder Moon, Sturgeon Moon, Moon When the Cherries Turn Black
Nature Spirits: dryads,
Herbs: chamomile, St. John's wort, bay, angelica, fennel, rue, orange, Echinacea, bergamot
Colors: yellow, gold
Flowers: sunflower, marigold, hibiscus, calendula
Scents: frankincense, heliotrope, rose geranium

Hi, I have a quick question ---- I'm fascinated by pagan beliefs but wonder how does the pagan calendar fit for the Southern Hemisphere?
