Thanks honey! I won a cash prize for it too and got lots of great comments from the other writers, nice not to get any prejudice along with it or anything like that.
One of the girls on GS said she couldn't access the link so for anybody else who couldn't:
Spiny soft conical cases of nature’s promise of new life
Pretty pine cones are we;
Dapple us in glitter, a Yuletide charm
Or smear us with peanut-butter, tied to a tree
Vital food for winter-worn birds
And an offering to nature’s bounty are we.
Prickly star-shaped cups of nature’s abundance
Baby beech cups are we;
Overflowing with the radiance of rebirth
Hold us to your heart, make a wish
For to dreams and desires we are a key;
Keepers of the wishes within are we.
Feathery light and golden globes of nature’s fertility
Sweet spinning jennies are we;
Watch us spin, spiral, glide and return to earth
We awaken fascination and childlike glee;
Or make us kissing-keys like mistletoe
And a spark of joy and love of life are we.
Jagged shells with nature’s smooth shiny jewels inside
Clever little conkers are we;
Play with us and we’ll teach of precision
Of try, try again and the awareness to see
Opening your eyes to simplicity;
A toy for all ages to treasure, are we.
Sumptous deep purple clusters of nature’s harvest
Bright juicy blackberries are we;
Fantastic fodder for free in homebound hedgerows
Awaiting your wholesome home-made pie or jam;
Bless us as you bake or blend and healthy be
Simple spell for your strength are we.
Copper and crimson, russet and gold of nature’s spectrum
Crispy fall leaves are we;
Collect us for crafty creations or pretty paint prints
Inspiring your creativity with our shades and shapes
Then lay us in compost to leafy sleep;
Food for thought and future flowers are we.
Small and perfectly made, randomly round arrayed
Autumn’s treasures are we;
Containing nature’s secret matrix of the miracle of life
The life and death cycle, the wheel of the year
Magick lives in us - so stop when you see!
Pick us up, take us home; your allies are we.
